We hope everyone is having an enjoyable
Lacrosse season as part of the Rocky View Lacrosse club.
If you son/daughter is up to a couple more
months of lacrosse on a casual basis, you may be interested in exploring the
game of Field Lacrosse.
A number of players from Rocky View have
played this over the past few years and have really enjoyed the game. It is a
bit different then box however the skills from both are very interchangeable.

Calgary Field Lacrosse Information
The 2008 Spring Box Lacrosse Schedule is now
posted at
http://www.calgarylacrosse.com
From CDLA
HITTING FROM BEHIND:
If a player gets a hitting from behind penalty, the player
is out of the game. If the penalty happens in the final 10 minutes of the third
period, the player is out of the game and is suspended for the next game as
well. If the player is assessed a Match Penalty for the hit then it is referred
to The Calgary & District Lacrosse Association Disciplinary Committee for a
decision on suspension severity.
The schedule may change without notice.
From the CDLA:
The Tyke "Superstar" rule is:
• There is a maximum three goal rule in Tyke in the CDLA.
• The rule is that only three goals from any individual player will count on
the scoresheet and on the scoreboard during any tyke game. A player can score
more goals, they just don't count.
• There is no penalty, for scoring more than three goals.
• We do not expect the referees to monitor this, but the adult volunteers in
the scorekeepers box and the coaches.
• There is no longer a two line rule at the tyke division any more, as it
was very hard for the young referees and new coaches to interpret.
• There are also no standings kept at the tyke division and therefore no
playoffs. The reason the scoresheets are recorded and submitted to the league is
to ensure that any major penalties, game ejections and other infractions are
recorded.
• Other than that, all the rules at the tyke level are the same as the other
minor box divisions.
